Mr. Batum is one of the most prominant jurists in Turkey. 

Having completed his secondary and high school education (1966-1975) at Galatasaray High School, Mr. Batum graduated from the Paris I Panthéon - Sorbonne University Faculty of Law in 1979. 

In 1996, has received his professorship at Galatasaray University Faculty of Law. 

After serving as Dean of Galatasaray University Faculty of Communication and Dean of Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Law, he served as the Rector of Bahçeşehir University for two terms.
