After graduating Kuleli Military High School as valedictorian, Mr. Aktürk received BSc and MSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Middle East Technical University (METU) Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1994. Later, he has received MBA degree from Middlesex University Business School in London.

He spent more than 25 years in the energy sector in engineering, design, construction, procurement and management of electricity generation, transmission and distribution systems. Besides electricity sector, he has significant experience in midstream and downstream projects in oil and gas.

Mr. Akturk has served in Çalık Enerji & affiliates, the energy company of Çalık Holding for more than 12 years in several senior executive positions as Co-ordinator, Director, Managing Director, Member of the Board, and Chairman of the Board. He has particular experience in M&A, transformation and turn around, digitalization, innovation and sustainable value development processes.

Mr. Akturk has taken responsibilities in cross-border energy projects and energy diplomacy as seasoned executive during his career.

Currently, he is serving as Member of the Board, and Advisor in several companies including energy and software businesses.
